Static Announcements continues the work it started on last year’s “two believers” by, once again, embracing new directions and ideas for establishing spaces for improvisation. From grooves and anti-grooves to instruments that many of the band-members are uncomfortable with “implementation” stretches the ears with familiarity, thoughtfulness, and an over-arching sense of discontent.
